This photograph was taken during a special lecture series session at Aga Khan University, Pakistan where Pakistan's renowned Classical Kathak Dancer 'Naheed Siddiqui' was shedding light on how dance relates to Spirituality and Islam. In this particular moment, she performed the whirls of Sufis and Derwaishs. This particular movement is done in circles, denoting life, change, motion and inclusiveness; the hand which points upwards denotes the greatness of God. It is a way of expressing your love to God. Who said Dance and Music is only for entertainment. It has a higher purpose that is which planets dance in a orbit
It is all about feelings and expressing those emotions.
You can also see AKU's logo in behind. It is a great addition to the composition as it has Quranic Ayah in it and the whole logo gels very well with whirling movement. Also the designs in the backdrop has Islamic influence in it.
Presents to you a lighter and more thoughtful image of REAL ISLAM.
